David accepted and promised that he and his friend would consider it, only to curl it into a ball with a mocking laugh and throw it on the floor the moment the officer left. The Army officer praised the young men for their atheticism and said they are the perfect "all-American" mold for a career in the military then gave David a recruiting pamplet adversizing enlisting in the Army. He made a brief conversation with the jocks, saying he attended the football game they played in. Quickly composing himself, he dutifully proceeded to provide them with silverwares and briefly caught the eye of Betsy, much to the chagrin of her boyfriend David.Īlmost immediately after, a uniformed military officer patronized the diner as well. The jock, David, bumped into Kreese on their way past him without apologizing, prompting him to give them an angry glare, before going back to work. He acquired a job at a diner, and one day, he was busily wiping the counter as a couple of jocks entered the establishment, one of which had his arm wrapped around the shoulder of a pretty young lady by the name of Betsy. He was bullied by his peers for his mother's actions, and labeled a freak due to the stigma around mental health. In 1965, his mother committed suicide and left Kreese to fend for himself. His home life was unstable and marred by the decline of his mother's mental health. John Kreese was born in 1946 and lived in the San Fernando Valley. He eventually manipulates and deceives his way into escaping prison. He is still able to pull the strings behind the scenes, by having Tory Nichols, one of his star students, remain at Cobra Kai as a spy. Kreese tries playing good soldier in prison to secure an early release, only for that plan to fail. After Cobra Kai's victory in the tournament, Kreese is betrayed by Silver, and framed for the assault of Stingray. As hostilities continue to flare between the rival dojos, Kreese plays the angles to get into his opponents’ heads. With his rivals teaming up, Kreese seeks out his old Army friend Terry Silver to help Cobra Kai prepare for the All Valley Karate Tournament. He eventually acquires the dojo through nefarious means, becoming the Sensei to an entirely new generation of students. Over thirty years later, Johnny Lawrence reopened Cobra Kai, triggering Kreese to make a surprise return to the valley. Miyagi, Kreese fled the valley and lost contact with his students. After repeated losses at the hands of Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Most notably, Kreese taught karate to a teenaged Johnny Lawrence and feuded with his karate rival Mr. He instilled a dangerous philosophy of "no mercy" in his students and encouraged generations of bullies.
